Utilization of Limestone to Effect on Physical - Mechanical Properties of Fired Clay Brick

Abstract Limestone wastes have accumulated in large quantities countries all over the world. To reduce this materials work is presented. The goal of paper to study influence limestone powder on physical and mechanical fired clay bricks. It as replacement clay, varying content 5, 10, 15 20 wt % . water / soil ratio constant 0.3. Three stages firing are presented achieve maximum temperature. first one 300 °C second 600 last 900 °C. Results for properties showed an increasing absorption brick specimens with increased, addition efflorescence increased. However, density shrinkage decreased quantity. For properties, results indicate that higher , a decrease compressive strength flexural bending strength.
